Old school sneakers with pretty dressesso far it's been metallic, but I will get my feet on a pair of those bright low nikes, the palest of the pale pink flowers please, randomly sticking polaroids on my walls, leaving with a re-stocked beauty update and discussing tree stump table desires.

DREAM KIND OF HOME

Heidi Middleton from sass & bide's home.
I found myself constantly looking back at these photographs from Tales Of Endearment time and time again, so I thought I'd share my obsession over them with you. I wouldn't be surprised if you did the same thingthere's so much style and beauty to take in. View all photographs, here.

METALLIC TINT

Slowly falling in love with peplum tops, leaning more towards structured rather than floppy. Ideal way to dress it downboyfriend jeans and add a bit of bling in ways other than jewellery.

THE FLOWER MARKETS

I'd been meaning to go for a while, but the typical snooze-sleep-through-the-alarm always won over me. Until an early 5am start yesterday; my first visit to the Sydney Flower Markets. Although it was still dark when we left home, I was shaken up with excitement.

After my flower bomb class I thought I'd spread the love. A whole bunch of carnations later and I came across thesemy favourite flower, imported and ready to bloom. Peonies aren't in season till October here so I was in so much delight, ready to buy my first bunch for the year for only $10. Sitting alongside a tiny portion of my current favourite books and candle, two have already bloomed and are beaming with happiness and beauty.

GOODS

IMG_3392

A couple of my favourite everyday things:

Beaded clutch. A little something I bought in Bali. Come to think of it most of the things I bought on that recent trip was beaded. Including that bangle in the corner from India.

Chanel miroir double facettes mirror duo that I've had for years now (lucky you can't see the scratches all over it!) and my everyday natural colour lipstick from Mac.

I've ditched the leather keyring and panda bears from Hong Kong and have new trinkets to accompany my keys. Along with the pom-poms I've been making, I forgot to mention the tassels I've been working on for keyrings, necklaces and braceletshere's one I made in pink.. I think it matches a friends little souvenir from Japan, the tiny geisha in an ice cube.

FIGURE IT OUT

custom made leather jacket / sportsgirl knit / sass & bide pants / DIY necklace

Trying to beat the cold without a scarf swallowing my head and millions of layers that I've been accustomed to. Minus the effort of it all with a good knit and leather jacket. Picked up this citrus one when I was half frozen in melbourne (apparently my layers weren't enough!) and thinking of going back for more colours since they're so affordable and snugly. The jacket's been on high rotation, just because, and now I'm always finding ways to include polka dots in my daily life, whether it be as obvious as these pants or just a little something like stockings or a wallet or bra.

WHITE OUT

Highly attracted to this denim skirt from Acne that features elements of a denim jacket but in knee length form. Pairing it with white accents give it a fresh alternative and hints of pastel always give an outfit a nice little touch.

SCENT

Stacking up on some new lace pieces underneath it all. I've also got my eye on this scalloped one in black and this in peach from urban outfitters

A gifted bottle of la lune by D&G seems to be my perfect kind of scent. It's fruity with a top of apple, bergamot and lily; has a heart of rose and tuberose; but is still mature with a base of orrie, leather, sandalwood and musk.. and ever since finding out that it's french for the moon, I have loved it even more.

MELBOURNE

A couple of snippets from a little birthday holiday from P. Our plane smelt like pink fairy floss on the way there while florence and the machine filled the soundtrack. There was some sort of luck as the sun shined beautifully on the first and last day..the rest were cold and raining but that didn't stop the laneway wandering, consuming more coffee than usual, majority of retail therapy around GPO, late night walks, treasure hunting at chapel street bazaar and painting my nails in metallic with moonshine after visiting topshop for the first time, brunches on a vintage school desk at kinfolk, chasing our seafood cravings and taking an extremely long amount of time choosing a new scent. It was nice to go again after our last trip a few years ago..back now and kind of missing it all!

PEACE & PATCHWORK

IMG_4221IMG_4222IMG_4256IMG_4247
bassike long sleeve / vintage fur vest and skirt / elizabeth and james wedges / karen walker sunglasses

A couple of photos that were taken a few days ago on day one of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia, where I had the pleasure of having lunch with the lovely Susie from Style Bubble hosted by Harper's Bazaar and Portable at Saké restaurant.

The search for a skirt like this has been a rather long one, but it finally ended at bondi markets last weekend. I'm kind of in love with this rare patchwork skater skirt, particularly because it's something my favourite character (jackie) from that 70's show would wear. It keeps me wondering about the woman who owned this back in the day and how she wore it because it fits me quite perfectly.
