SUNSHINE ON MY BEDSIDE TABLE

When winter rolls its way in there's nothing I love more than having candles lit on my bedside table (and snuggles, those are right up there to!) I remember reading this post on Style Me Romy and being so eager to purchase one back then. They're finally in store and to join my others, I popped by the corner shop and picked up le soleil from Maison Balzac, the perfect company to my current scent.

comme des garçons pouch / furball scarf from hong kong

I love this furball scarf, it's a little something fun to wear in winter when the weather seems so gloomy...and also resembles cotton candy so I've been told. These were taken a while ago before heading to an Italian dinner, my favourite! I'll have to show you the cuff details on this top I purchased a while back another time, it's insanely good and the main feature that drew me in, along with the beautiful drapey silk. I've been wearing alot of black lately, partly because of my new styling role at work. Luckily I've got coloured pouches to add a hint of colour, this green comme des garçons being my top pick at the moment.

IN THE BAG

I don't mean to sound like a sticky beak but I've always loved 'in my bag' features. It's those staple necessities and little knick knacks that I'm curious about, I love how it reflects a persons personality and how organised they are. I've done a couple of my own which you can find here and here but I'm particularly loving this one from Russh magazines fashion team during Fashion Week:

SOME NEW THINGS

1. Enjoying latte's while getting loads of inspiration from interior magazines at recently discovered local coffee shop, The Baron. Loving the industrial feel of this place, alot like the furniture I would search for to fill my own house.

2. New products to keep my skin hydrated throughout winterAesop Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream and Parsley Seed Eye Serum. Pictured with my favourite O-check message bottle purchased from Pentimento a few years ago, which was suppose to be a gift but I ended up keeping it for myself, Antipodes still water and Buddha Bum pomegranate soy candle that will also need a re stock soon.

3. One of my favourite plain leather notebooks, only getting better with age and for sale here. accompanied with some gifted baby's breath or Gyp. Beautiful flower when bunched with plenty.

4. Often mistaken for cotton candy balls around my neck, my furball scarf keeps me colourful and warm. An essential for winter, along with these.

COSY

Nothing is more comfortable in winter than loose pants and cosy knitwear. Keep your outfit looking smart with a printed pointy kitten heel and some dainty stacking rings. Glasses are optional, I've gotten tired of wearing my contacts so I've ordered a similar pair in tortoise to get my prescription in. I'll show you soon.. If I don't get too shy.

PRINCESS OF POLKA DOTS

My obsession with polka dots stemmed from the utterly fascinating Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama, who they call the princess of polka dots. Alongside Andy Warhol, her impact on the New York art world in the 60's is a huge inspiration and she tells a great story of her passion for art from a very young age. After tracking one down on net-a-porter.com, I think it's safe to say now that my Comme des Garçons collection is happily complete with this polka dot pouch:

PRELUDE TO LOVE

So, I got a haircut. The length was kind of an accident and at first I only pretended to like it (everytime I flicked my hair back after a shower it felt odd not having anything hit my back) but now that I've convinced myself that it makes me look more like Kiko Mizuhara, everything is okay. She's even given me the urge to go a little shorter..but that would require a lot of thought, because these waves might go out of control.

Purchased this top when I was in Melbourne a while ago and already knew that it belonged with a leathersomething. I like the thought of a sheer blouse and leather, leaning more towards the sophisticated rather than tacky look of course. Then the accessories, the two that have finally come out of their boxes, arty ring I got when there were only two colours to choose from and weaved clutch from a couple of seasons ago that is getting more usage now that I've finally learnt how to cut down on bringing only the essentials. Cameras not included.
